Enough already!

It’s been a pretty intense 6 weeks.  We’ve learned a LOT about social media.  It’s everywhere and has so many uses — it may be hard to comprehend it all.

Also, how do we balance our own personal social media-ing with our work?  Is it right to use work computers for personal use?  Is it right, within reason (whatever that may be)?

Corporate work policies aside, we need to decide what is right for us individually.  We must establish boundaries and create a balance so that our work doesn’t suffer.  We should embrace the social media tools that we can incorporate into our work processes to increase efficiency and impress our bosses and clients.

The blog Distracted Enterprise recently posted and article called, How Much Social Media is Too Much Social Media? 6 Pros Speak Out, in which 6 social media professionals discuss their own feelings and uses of social media.

It’s good to know that even social media professionals think there is too much clutter and broadcasting on Facebook.  They also get frustrated when they’re told by a co-worker that they’re swamped and can’t get their work done while they see them tweeting and updating Facebook all day.

It’s a great blog post and a good reminder that as overwhelmed as we may be, it’s really not that bad.  We need to take a step back, breathe, and assess what is important for us and for our careers.  Then rock it out!
