iTunes Radio

Posted by aliverpo03 on June 11, 2013

It’s the new normal to not pay for your media content; watching shows on services like Hulu, recording them on DVR and listening to your music on free radios are quickly becoming popular. In the realm of internet radios, Apple is adding a new contender. Earlier this week Apple announced iTunes Radio in conjunction with their iOS7 operating system. The iRadio has been in the works for many years and is finally coming to fulfillment.

iTunes Radio will feature 200 curated stations and, similar to other free radios, will give the ability for users to customize stations. With the use of it’s Genius function, already available on the iTunes,  the radio will be able to suggest custom stations based upon your chosen music and the items already present in your iTunes.

In the realm of free content, iTunes Radio seems to be coming at just the right time. This advancement can only benefit Apple if iTunes sales begin to decrease. It will be interesting to see how the combination of  the music available on iTunes and the content available on iTunes radio compare and compete. for more info
