How Safe Are We?

Posted by Natalia Protopopoff on June 19, 2013

I found this infographic to be an interesting depiction of the state of privacy across social media. One fact that was particularly startling — 54% of profiles have been a target of identity theft. That’s a tremendous amount of effort being put into this kind of fraud, which affected over 12 million Americans in the past year.

So how do we protect ourselves? The obvious answer is to keep profiles private and use discretion with personal information. Other tips included regularly checking privacy settings and changing passwords across platforms. And whatever you do, definitely do not click on those random links that your friends DM you on Twitter — you will not find the solution to belly fat.
