Narcissism Linked to Frequent Facebook and Twitter Use: Are you Surprised?

Posted by My Freshman Year of Life on June 25, 2013

A new study from researchers at the University of Michigan links over sharing of pictures and statuses with narcissism.  At this point I am not surprised at all. Nowadays, people would do anything to get attention online by posting ridiculous pictures and statuses. In fact social media allows people  to create circles online and gain approval of others to boost up their egos.

A total of 486 students and 93 adults were asked to select statements that best reflect themselves ranging from “I always know what I’m doing”(narcissistic) to “Sometimes I am not sure of what I am doing” (not narcissistic) and the results were astonishing. The researchers found out that those narcissistic traits are mostly found by  those who use Facebook frequently.
