Spicing Up Your Press Release

How do you make a press release better? Add a video, a picture or both. A 2012 study states that multimedia press releases have 10 times more views than those that are not. That statistic makes me want to change the way I create press releases. I don’t know about you.

You don’t need to change that much. A multimedia release simply adds pictures, videos and hyperlinks to the document. It can also include RSS feeds, social media pages, downloadable files and sharing options. Not too hard, right?

Even with this statistic, PR firms still don’t use this style of release. The most common responses are due to time, skill and budget. The world may be changing. PR professionals cannot overlook the fact that multimedia releases are viewed 77 percent more than your standard release! They may want to jump on the bandwagon.
