But First… Let Me Take a Selfie; There’s an app for that!

Define “selfie”:

1) A strange phenomenon in which the photographer is also the subject of the photograph, in a subversive twist on the traditional understanding of the photograph. Usually conducted because the subject cannot locate a suitable photographer to take the photo, like a friend. (UrbanDictionary)

2) The taking of a picture of yourself and posting it on Facebook because you have extremely low self-esteem and you need people to comment to tell you how hot or pretty you look. In reality you just look desperate for attention. And no matter how attractive you might be, you still look pathetic. (UrbanDictionary)

3) A picture taken of yourself that is planned to be uploaded to Facebook, Myspace or any other sort of social networking website. You can usually see the person’s arm holding out the camera in which case you can clearly tell that this person does not have any friends to take pictures of them so they resort to Myspace to find internet friends and post pictures of themselves, taken by themselves. A selfie is usually accompanied by a kissy face or the individual looking in a direction that is not towards the camera. (UrbanDictionary)

Just when we  finally felt like we had enough platforms to sufficiently share our selfies, between Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, iMessage, etc… comes “Shots”.  “Shots is a mobile social network through which you can snap and share selfies. You can reply to any given Shot, and also send private messages.”

Right now, Shots is only available on IOS. You could see how the name would be appealing to teens and college-age kids. In the screenshot above, it looks like you can “Heart”, Reply and/or save images you find on Shots. Assuming you can link through your Address Book and/or social media sites to send shots to your friends.
