Have you noticed the change on Twitter?

Personally, I am not very active on Twitter. But when I check on it, I always hope to see what those people I followed have to say these days. It has been a little challenging given that I followed a couple of news outlets like the Associate Press, who tweets about 500 times a day, burying down my friends and family’s feed down to the bottom. Luckily, Twitter allows me to separate the contents. After a couple of wipes on my phone, the AP’s feeds become invisible.

Apparently, that a bit of hope can become even more difficult. Today, a Mashable article reported that “Twitter is quietly testing a new feature that could display tweets in your timeline from accounts you don’t follow.” Someone spotted a BuzzFeed tweet pop up in his feed, suggesting him to follow. It wasn’t an ad or a promotion, but mentioned that “someone he follows also follows BuzzFeed”, said Mashable.

So far, it seems like only a testing with small poop of users, but Twitter may roll out to the whole user base if it helps bring in more revenue. We might not like that as regular users, but can we do something with it? Unfortunately, probably not.
