Embedded Tweets

Posted by chelseatufarolo on August 6, 2014

Back in September 2013, Twitter openly admitted to experimenting on user, meaning that the company is constantly evolving their product. While some changes may be obvious to users, other may go without being noticed.

This is the case for the site’s newest change: Embedded tweets. The feature allows users to neatly place a tweet within another tweet and not worry about shortening a url.

So instead of looking like this:

Your tweets will now look like this:

While this feature has been available on mobile platforms (iOS and Android) since June, it has only recently made it’s way to the main site.

Mashable author Katie Nelson commented on the limitations of this feature, which are all aesthetically based. For example, one issue was that “you only get the miniature embedded tweet when it is posted at the end of a new tweet, rather than in the middle or beginning.”

Although this is a fair criticism, it is likely Twitter is still in the process of tweaking this feature.
